In no way do I want to impede progress, HOWEVER, we live in an age when products become obsolete before we finally finish learning how to use them. This service, at least, protects from accidents (can you say WATER?), while it affords an upgrade opportunity within the two year warranty period.I have already purchased a Kindle I, II, AND III (bought the III twice - bought one for my sister only two months ago)! The speed of the introduction of new products is outdistancing my wallet's ability to keep current!!
