Maybe I'm spoiled because my last laptop was a Toshiba, but this Gateway ( NV53a) is awful. It does work, so I couldn't give it just one star, but the speakers are awful. If there's any noise nearby, then you have to use external speakers or subtitles. My power cord just died and I've had the computer only 9 months. It doesn't keep a charge. I have to have it plugged in most of the time. The battery dies after several hours even if it's hibernating/sleeping. I will never buy another Gateway if I can help it.
