I bought this for my mother who doesn't have a lot of money and due to medical issues is laid up in the house. I then sent her some cheap DVDs that I burned onto writable discs as backups for her. It works great, it was easy for her to set up, and it plays all the burned discs. You can't ask for much more, especially when if you were to go into some stores like FYE in the mall, a DVD might cost more than this player plus shipping.
