I just received this monitor last night, while yes it does its job as being a HD monitor, I couldn't ignore the white background lights emanating from around the edges as the previous reviewer mentioned. On the other hand, one can't really complain for the price but I could've forked out a little bit more for a higher quality one. The only time this screen doesn't bother me is during the day or when you I'm in a lit room, but once you turn off the lights they ARE that noticeable. It all depends what you use this screen for, if for the office, no problem. However, if you plan on using this to watch movies or play games or anything else that would require to turn off the lights it would be a nuisance to some people. For those who just need an extra monitor for viewing space who don't care about the rest, then you can't beat the price for a monitor of this type. The colors are gorgeous, bright, and no dead pixels upon start up. Compared to other monitors, unless you're really really picky about the colors, it holds its own well, at least in my opinion.
