Purchased this unit last evening nad I think that it is a nice little portable speaker system for the price range !! Very nice design, small, very functional, easy to use , simple buttons. I like the fact that it uses regular AA batteries rather than a special "rechargable" battery. I just think thats a better option for a portable unit that is going to be used for camping, at the beach, on vacation, at the pool etc etc. Because when the batteries do go out, you can just put new ones in ( you dont have to stop using the unit, plug it into a A/C power source and let it recharge for 20 hours ) . I really think that reg. batteries are a better option for anything that is going to be used as a pure "portable" device. If you can just bring some AA batteries with you , -- you are always good to go !!! The physical design is very good, very small -- can be put in any small bag,pack, picnic basket, pool bag, etc . The durability of the attached cover (that folds into its own stand) is a bit of a concern. I feel that this may start to break at the seams after much use. But , at this point, that is only speculation. It also has a Aux. input to connect any other device that you want to play through it. Now for the sound --- The sound is a bit "thin" (lacking in bass responce ) , not that bad for a unit of its size and price range. I feel the sound is acceptable for its purposed uses. There is only volume controls on the unit - no bass or treble adjustment - but you can make those adjustments on your I-pod by choosing the different sound profiles under the "music" settings. If you want the best sounding "portable I-pod docking speaker unit" there are other more expensive options: The Bose unit at $400.00 ( best sound by far,rather large,And I feel, way to expensive for use in these portable applications ) The Logitech S715i , I think is another great option ( very good sound with amazing bass responce for its size, very nice looking, small, etc ) But the S715i ( at $120.00 ) is about twice the price of this IMT325i.
